Fits: Ozito: one battery powers the entire cordless PXC 18V and 36V (2 x 18V) range. Genuine Einhell Power X-Change packs, chargers and tools interchange with Ozito PXC.
Does not fit: Ryobi ONE+, AEG, Makita or anything else, and Ozito's older non-PXC 18V tools. Ozito voids the warranty if other-brand batteries or adapters are used.
Chargers: PXCG-060 standard (1.5 A), PXCG-030C (3 A), PXCG-040 (4 A) and PXCG-080 Boost (8 A) chargers all charge every PXC pack.
Warranty: 5-year replacement warranty on Power X-Change products (3 years on some chargers), no registration needed; claims go through Bunnings.

How it works

Method and assumptions

Compatibility is by platform, not by brand name: a battery fits a tool when the voltage, the slide rail and the electronics all match. The table lists what each Australian platform fits, what it does not, and the traps (Bosch blue versus green, Makita LXT versus XGT, Ryobi 18 V versus 36 V) that catch people at the Bunnings counter.

Runtime is energy divided by power. An 18 V 5 Ah pack holds about 90 Wh. A drill pulling 250 W with the trigger held gets about 22 minutes of trigger time from it, which is more than an hour of real work because the trigger is only pulled a quarter of the time. The presets below use typical average draws and duty cycles; your tool, material and technique move the answer either way.

Charge time is capacity divided by charger current, with about 15% added for the slower top-up at the end of a charge. Fast chargers reach 80% quickly and then taper.

Compatibility notes summarise manufacturer statements and Australian retail listings and can lag new releases. Check the tool's manual for approved batteries. Adapters and non-genuine packs are used at your own risk: they bypass the protection circuits, void tool and battery warranties, and have caused fires when charged through an adapter.

Are Ozito batteries compatible with Ryobi tools?+

No. Ozito PXC 18 V and Ryobi ONE+ 18 V, both Bunnings brands, use different slide rails and electronics and do not interchange. Ozito PXC is the Einhell Power X-Change system, so genuine Einhell packs fit Ozito PXC tools. Third-party adapters exist, but Ozito voids its warranty if other-brand batteries or adapters are used.

Do Bosch blue and Bosch green 18 V batteries fit each other?+

No. Bosch Professional (blue, GBA and ProCORE packs) and Bosch Home & Garden (green, POWER FOR ALL packs) are separate 18 V systems with different rails. Several Amazon AU listings blur the two, so check the colour and the range name before buying a skin.

Can I run a DeWalt FlexVolt battery on 18 V XR tools?+

Yes. FlexVolt packs (DCB546 6.0/2.0 Ah, DCB547 9.0/3.0 Ah, DCB548 12.0/4.0 Ah) switch to 18 V on 18V XR tools and to 54 V on FlexVolt tools. They are heavy, so they suit saws and grinders more than a drill you hold overhead, and they do not work with the DCA1820 adapter for old pod-style tools.

What does a Ryobi charger flashing red and green mean?+

On Ryobi's single-port chargers, red flashing on its own means the charger is evaluating a hot, cold or deeply discharged pack and will start once it is ready. Red and green flashing together means the charger has judged the pack (or itself) defective: remove and refit the pack, try another pack if you have one, and if a second pack also shows the fault the charger is the problem. Bunnings handles Ryobi warranty claims in store.

How long does an 18 V 5 Ah battery last on a drill?+

About 90 Wh of energy. At a typical 250 W average draw that is about 22 minutes with the trigger held, which stretches to more than an hour of normal work because the trigger is pulled only part of the time. Ryobi's own figures work out at roughly 2.5 mAh per 4 x 40 mm screw, so a 5 Ah pack drives on the order of 1,500 to 2,000 small screws into pine. Long batten screws into hardwood pull far more.

Can I take power tool batteries on a plane?+

Spare lithium batteries must go in carry-on with the terminals covered. Packs up to 100 Wh (an 18 V 5 Ah pack is 90 Wh) need no approval; 100 to 160 Wh (an 18 V 6 Ah pack is 108 Wh) need airline approval and are limited to two spares per person; above 160 Wh (an 18 V 12 Ah pack is 216 Wh) is prohibited. Qantas also caps you at 15 battery-powered devices per passenger.

Are battery adapters safe?+

Adapters that let one brand's battery run another brand's tool bypass the tool's communication with the pack, so low-voltage cut-off and overload protection may not work. Never charge a battery through an adapter. If you use one, keep it to low-draw tools such as lights and accept that the tool warranty is gone.
